A new fuel injection system designed especially for small engines aims to help cut emissions by up to 70 percent. The new system, called PicoSpray, is simpler and cheaper than current fuel injections, and is an effective alternative to traditional carburetors.
ABOUT THE ENGINEER: Lihang Nong, a recent graduate student of the University of Michigan College of Engineering’s Mechanical Engineering department, began working on PicoSpray almost two years ago. After receiving funding from TechArb, SPARK and the Michigan Clean Energy Venture Challenge, he is wrapping up his prototype and getting ready to sell his new product.
