Detecting nuclear bombs in the field

Detectors are being made at the University of Michigan that could allow airports and dockyards to detect nuclear weapon materials inside baggage or containers.
Sara Pozzi, associate professor of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences, discusses how the detectors will be used to find gammas and neutrons created by fission.

ABOUT THE PROFESSOR: Sara Pozzi is an associate professor of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences at the University of Michigan.
